Where has September gone?!?!?!? I can’t believe it! I guess time really does fly when you get older! Is it just me, or did summers seem to last FOREVER when you were a kid? It just doesn’t feel like it should be October already!
Well, Secret Pal 12 is officially “over” as of today. I’m sad! I really enjoyed getting to know the pal who got to “spoil” me, and there were so many other things I would have love to have done for my pal that I got to spoil. Just not enough time I guess. My package out to my “spoilee” went out today so she should have it in the next day or so and hopefully it makes it there in one piece! I hope she likes everything! My “spoiler” had to have some major dental work done and hasn’t been feeling all that great for the past week or so. She emailed me to let me know that my final package is on it’s way, but I’m not worried about it! I know how dental work can be very painful. BELIEVE ME I know!
Hopefully October will be just as great as September was (minus the injury).
-
Oct. 3 - My sister and I are going to see NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland and then out to the flats to celebrate (My sis passed her R.N. exam and is now “officially” a R.N.)
-
Oct. 4 - Birthday party in Warren for my cousin’s daugther. I can’t believe she’s 2 already!
-
Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 18-19 - “Scheduled” working weekends (which means we’ll be home all weekend) trying to get the house back together and get ready for the winter.
-
Oct. 15 - Signups for Secret Pal 13 are underway - Can’t miss that one!
-
Oct. 29 - Mine and Hubby’s 3rd Wedding Anniversary. Not quite sure what the plans are, but we’ll think of something.
-
Oct. 31 - Halloween Party. We haven’t had one in almost 5 years and we’re itching to have one this year. I can’t wait!

Final Questions of the week:
1. If you were told you could never again buy yarn, would would your last yarn purchase be?
Oh, man… tough one! I’d have to say a massive order of sock yarn or like Plymouth Encore. That way I’d know I’d have enough for projects for a long time!
2. If you were told you could never knit again, what would be the last thing you’d knit?
Probably an afghan or something that would take forever to complete. That way I’d at least be able to stretch it out a bit.
3. In a given year, how many times do you buy yarn? And what is your favorite place to buy yarn from? A festival? A shop? Online? Dish your favorite places!!
I pretty much buy yarn consistently throughout the year. I usually buy from my LYS, The Knit Shop in Aurora, OH, but I’ll also occasionally go to Pat Catan’s, Michaels, or JoAnn’s for some cheap stuff. I’ve recently become addicted to some of the shops online like Blue Moon Fiber Arts and The Loopy Ewe. I’ve never been to a festival, but I’m hoping to change that sometime soon.
4. With Fall in full swing in many areas, what is the one thing you look forward to most?
Fall is my all-time favorite season! I love the colors, the smells, and yes, even the temperatures. I always look forward to coming home from work, changing into my comfy pajamas, curling up on the couch with a nice cup of warm apple cider and my knitting! I love those nights!

I completely forgot that before I left for Pennsylvania for the weekend that I had ordered some goodies for myself. Well, kinda for myself. For Christmas presents mostly, but I still get the pleasure of fondling them in the mean time right? We got home on Sunday and there were a couple of packages wating for me. Let’s see what I got shall we?

Socks that Rock - Mediumweight - Banded Agate

- Socks that Rock - Mediumweight - “Prove It All Night”

Dream in Color - Smooshy - Visual Violet
The STR are for socks for my sister and Hubby, and the Dream in Color is to make a Forest Canopy Shawl by Susan Lawrence (Ravelry Link) from “I’m Knitting as Fast as I can” for my Grandma. So far the shawl is coming out great. My first time doing lace so I’ve had to frog and re-start a few times, but now I’m on the right track.

So we went to Pennsylvania this past weekend for my Aunt’s wedding. What a blast! The weather turned out to be beautiful, I got to see my family from all over (they all came home just for the wedding!), and had a weekend away. I know it’s not a “real” vacation, but it is the closest thing we’ve had to one in a long time!
I’d like to send a big CONGRATULATIONS to the new Mr. & Mrs. “Aunt Debbie”….

Her dress was so gorgeous as was her hair and everything else about that day! I don’t think they could have asked for a better wedding! Again, congraulations Aunt Debbie and Uncle Gene! We love you guys!
